TDC1000-C2000EVM: Time of Flight

Part Number: TDC1000-C2000EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TDC1000

Hi,

1. In my graph i see TDC AVG VALUE(Micro seconds) and dont see TOF AVG VALUE are they same.

2. How can i change the micro seconds to nano seconds?

3. My software does not show tank level option. I dont know how to save and load new configuration.

4. Can you guide me what all settings i need to do to measure concentration. My values presently dont change in graph.

5. Any user guide from which i can get familiar how to use this software.

6. If i am not using the piezo recommended by TI and want to use another piezo sensor what specifications are needed in general.

Thanks

    Hi,

I dont see any files in load configuration. How do i do settings to measure concentration and tank level. I am not aware of software and need some guidance for it for saving the configuration.

    Thanks

    Hi,

I am facing many problems and would be nice if you can show step by step method to measure concentration along with configuration settings required. It would be a great help. The another question is can i measure the concentration of two tanks at the same time with TDC1000-C2000EVM board?

    Thank you

  • Hello,

    1. Yes, the "TDC AVG VALUE" is the total TOF measured by the C2000's internal time measurement.

    2. There is a check box on the bottom right of the graph screen labeled "TDC Y-SCALE IN ns". Check this box and run the graph

    3. There is no tank level tab in the TDC1000-C2000 EVM GUI. To save a configuration click "SAVE CONFIG" in the TDC1000 tab, and to load a previously saved configuration click "LOAD CONFIG" in the same tab.

    4. This application note is geared toward level sensing, but goes through the various register settings in detail and explains their functions: www.ti.com/.../snaa270.pdf

    5. This is the TDC1000-C2000 User's Guide: www.ti.com/.../sniu023.pdf

    6. This is entirely dependent on the application. For fluid level and concentration sensing a transducer with a 1Mhz center frequency is a good place to start. This application note describes considerations in choosing an ultrasonic transducer: www.ti.com/.../snaa266a.pdf

  • Hello,

I've joined your threads since they cover many of the same questions. The main question of configuration and GUI use is answered in the User's guide linked in my previous post.

In answer to measuring the concentration of two tanks at the same time the answer is yes, but not exactly. 2 transducers can be used with the TDC1000, but there is no method to excite both transducers at the same time. They can, however be excited back to back with very limited time in between measurements.

    Regards,
  • Hi Scott,

How do i do that to connect two transducers and excite them as per your saying. Is that possible to see the graph of both the transducers individually for measuring concentration. I am not aware how to connect them and take concentration readings individually . Can you tell me if i am using a 1Mhz transducer from steminc what exactly changes do i need to do to do my configuration for TDC1000 setting option or any other. Would be a great help.

    Thank you.
