TDC1000-TDC7200EVM: Testing without transducers

Part Number: TDC1000-TDC7200EVM

Can the TDC1000-7200 EVM tested without transducers and using function generator or alternatives. This way I can have flexibility on the signal going in RX path and later choose transducers accordingly. Is this a valid idea?

  • Hello Prudhvi,

Yes, this is a good way to test the device in a controlled manner. Just make sure that if you are inputting a signal directly to the COMPIN pin that it is biased at the VCOM voltage (VDD/2). There is a VCOM pin on the device that can be used for reference.

  • Hello,

Thank you for the immediate support. I think its better to input directly at RX so I need not give a bias.

I have a doubt, what specification of function generator will do the job. My transducers are sending at 1MHz for water flow measurement in pipes.

    Regards,
