TDC1000-TDC7200EVM: Achieve larger range of flowrates

Part Number: TDC1000-TDC7200EVM

Hello,

To achieve larger range of flowrate it would be better to have different configuration of TDC1000 and 7200 for measuring TOF for both upstream and downstream (use short TOF for down stream). This I have seen can be achieved from the code but haven't found this option in the GUI. Is it available in the GUI if not code is the only way to achieve best ranges of flowrates?

Regards,

Prudhvi Sagar

  • Hi Prudhvi,

There is no option in the GUI to change configurations between the upstream and downstream measurements. This is entirely possible, but this must be done separately in the code of the microcontroller communicating to the TDC devices. The new configuration must be completed before sending the second trigger signal to the TDC1000 to begin the measurement for the opposite direction.

  • Hello,
Thank you for the immediate help. Do you also think this can help in achieving larger range of flowrates?

  • Hi Prudhvi,

If the delta TOF between the upstream measurement and downstream measurement is very high, then it may be necessary to use a scheme like I described above in order to achieve a larger range of flow rates. However, if that is the case, I would first suggest to move the transducers closer together if possible so that the range of delta TOFs stays smaller.
