TDC1000-TDC7200EVM: MSP430 source code

Part Number: TDC1000-TDC7200EVM

Hi,

Is it possible to get the MSP430 source code, that could be used, eventually modified, to implement a real application?

To use the board at 200-300KHZ resonant frequency , is it enough to set the proper value into CONFIG0 register or do we need to make any HW modification?

Thanks

Umberto

  • Hi Umberto,

The MSP430 source code is included in the installation directory of the TDC1000-TDC7200EVM GUI (C:\Program Files (x86)\Texas Instruments\TDC1000_7200EVM).

Using a 200-300Khz transducer will require modification to the EVM hardware. You will have to replace the external bandpass filter (centered around 1Mhz on the TDC1000-TDC7200EVM) between PGAOUT and COMPIN with a new filter appropriate for your desired frequency.

Another option is to use the TDC1000-GASEVM which has a bandpass filter with a passband between about 58khz and 300khz. It also includes the BSTEVM daughter board which boosts the TX signal for use in air-coupled applications.

For liquid measurement applications I would suggest using the TDC1000-TDC7200EVM with a transducer of about 1Mhz for the best combination of resolution and limited attenuation.

If you will be measuring through air or other gases I suggest the TDC1000-GASEVM.

    Regards,
