TDC1000-TDC7200EVM: TDC1000-TDC7200EVM

Part Number: TDC1000-TDC7200EVM

TDC1000-TDC7200EVM board,
I started to communicate via USB to a computer and use examples.
However, during the process of updating the software, the LED example was selected, which could not be connected with the computer at present (USB development process will not recognize the block development version, even if the update driver can not be used normally), would like to ask whether there is a way to restore, or Is updated back to the original state, thanks

Steps I have already done:
    1. If you have followed the steps in the manual, but still cannot use it, LED D2 will still not light. (LED D4 is normally powered)
  2.
Already read 6.1 Jumpers and 6.2 LED descriptions,
The current situation is
"If the LINK LED is OFF, check the physical connection to the PC then verify if the correct firmware
Has been downloaded if the jumpers have been connected correctly."
3. Suspected that the previous use of MSP430 USB Firmware Upgrade (BSL_USB_GUI.exe), using the "Blink LED Example" update results in the current connection condition, so the need to resolve Firmware reset, is there a relevant way? Thank you.

4. The current failure of the Firmware Upgrade causes the USB communication computer to not correctly identify the development board (see Chapter 7 upgrade for no significance).
Also refer to Chapter 6 or Chapter 7 for problems that cannot be solved

problem:
A failed firmware upgrade causes the USB communications computer to be incorrect.
Driver can be installed, but the board cannot be started normally.
What is needed now is how to restore or reprogram the software, so that the development version can be correctly identified and started.

  • Hello,

If you are unable to update the firmware using the TDC1000-TDC7200EVM GUI, you can try using the BSL firmware uploader separately. It is located in the following folder as part of the GUI installation:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Texas Instruments\TDC1000_7200EVM\MSP430 USB Firmware Upgrade Example

If you follow the instructions on the loader (most importantly holding down the BSL button before plugging in the board) it should recognize the board and allow you to reprogram the firmware to the proper file.

  • Hi Scott,

The current situation update firmware shows the following message---

    Starting
    Password Sent Successfully
    Sending RAM BSL v00.06.05.34
    Done RAM BSL v00.06.05.34
Failed to read data from RAM BSL
Unsuccessful in starting the BSL. Restarting.
    Password Sent Successfully
    Sending RAM BSL v00.06.05.34
    Done RAM BSL v00.06.05.34
Failed to read data from RAM BSL

So still unable to correctly identify the 7200EVM through the usb link

    Eric
  • Hi Scott,

I encountered the same problem with another development board of the same type.
As long as I use the MSP430 USB Firmware Upgrade, I can't connect.
    And Firmware Upgrade failed.

    Starting
    Password Sent Successfully
    Sending RAM BSL v00.06.05.34
    Done RAM BSL v00.06.05.34
Failed to read data from RAM BSL
Unsuccessful in starting the BSL. Restarting.

    Done RAM BSL v00.06.05.34
Failed to read data from RAM BSL

I think this is a problem caused by updating the software, resulting in the current board can not be used, whether there is a solution, thank you.

    Eric
  • I have the same question on two TDC1000-TDC7200EVM board.

Now i can not correctly identify the 7200EVM through the usb link anymore. :(
  • I have the same problem. Could you tell me how to resolve this problem ?
