TDC1000-TDC7200EVM: Clock/voltage buffers needed?

Our TDC expert is currently out of office, and will respond to your post later this week.

I understood now in the schematics that it should not affect the actual measurement, however I assume that I will just get a (small?) delay of the START/STOP pulses if I want to measure with an oscilloscope? (For me the Start trigger pulse and receive signal strength is more important than the TOF when debugging with the scope.) 

TDC1000_MCU_STOP and TDC1000_MCU_START are also connected to the MSP430, are those even needed when measuring time with TDC7200?

CDCLVC1102PW is just a buffer for the STOP signal from the TDC100 to the MSP430 & the VCOM_OUT is the mildy amplified by the LMH6601MG amplifier, if you VCOM is strong we need not use this as well. Both these components would not affect your measurement without them.

TDC1000_MCU_STOP and TDC1000_MCU_START are not needed to measure the time using the TDC7200.

What do you mean with "VCOM_OUT is strong enough"? I am using the VCOM from the TDC1000.
