AWR1642BOOST: SRR Demo - How to start the demo without Matlab GUI

Hi,

I would like to run the SRR demo without Matlab GUI. As it is found that, we need to send two commands (advFrameCfg,sensorStart) through CLI. But I could't find any lines of code on Radar side which read UART and process these commands. Similar to odoc demo, is there any way to bypass the CLI and make the SRR demo running without the help of matlab GUI ?

    The SRR demo is with the MatlaB GUI. We do not have the CLI based application to configure the Radar.
    The requirement for the SRR design was to have as much memory available in the R4 (for AUTOSAR etc).

    If you need to make any changes to the configuration , you will need to make them in the header files and then recompile the code. No option for run-time configuration.

    I think there is some confusion about the role of the Matlab GUI.

    Unlike the OOB demo, the SRR demo does not have a CLI to configure the input profile. For the SRR demo, the commands are hardcoded in a header file. So, the CLI is already bypassed

    The Matlab GUI is used to display the output data, similar to the GUI Composer gui used for the OOB.

    I went through the matlab code. For configuring and starting the sensor these two commands(advFrameCfg,sensorStart) are send through UART (Ref. loadconfig.m given with matlab gui source). I am unable to locate the corresponding UART_read command in mss_srr_cli.c which will receive the commands and invoke SRR_MSS_CLIAdvancedFrameCfg and SRR_MSS_CLISensorStart functions kept under mss_srr_cli.c

    Hi Raghu,

    I do not want to change the config on run time. I just want to run the demo just after switching on the sensor. Currently the sensor is waiting for the advFrameCfg command for configuration. Once the configuration is done we need to send the sensorStart for starting the sensor. Is there any way to hardcode these two commands also?

    You will need to bypass the CLI (CLI_task)in this case and then just call the AdvanceframeCfg and sensorstart . Have you tried this approach?

    Hi Raghu,

    I tried to call the two functions SRR_MSS_CLIAdvancedFrameCfg and SRR_MSS_CLISensorStart at the end of SRR_MSS_CLIInit() function(mss_cli_srr.c). But the application is crashing when I do like this.
    Still I am unable to find the lines of code where the application is receiving these two commands(AdvanceframeCfg and sensorstart) from the UART.

    Hello Shreeroop,

    The SRR demo uses a "CLI library" which is available in "mmwave-sdk-install\ti\utils\cli\src\cli.c" . This file has the code for "CLI_task" .The "CLI_task()" has a UART_read() that read the command message from the UART.

    Hope this helps your understanding of the code to do further modifications.
