Dear Clancy and Bala,

What is the maximum tolerance for oscillator?

  • Janine,

If you are referring to the internal reference clock, then that is listed in the spec under f_INTCLK and T_Cf_int_u.

While there can be variability in the internal clock from unit to unit, the temperature coefficient is quite good.

    Dear Clancy,

I am using the external osc. for precise measurement. What is its maximum tolerance?
  • In reply to Janine Lin:

    Hello Clancy and Bala,

    Any update?
  • In reply to Janine Lin:

    Janine,

The LDC1614 can accept a wide range of clock frequencies, 2MHz to 40MHz. There isn't a specification for the tolerance at any particular frequency.

You will find that any variation in the clock frequency will directly translate to the inductance measurement. The quality of oscillator you use will impact the noise floor. Also pay attention to the temperature drift of your oscillator.
  • In reply to Clancy Soehren:

    ok Clancy, thank you.
