IWR6843ISK: Removing ghost objects detection

Part Number: IWR6843ISK

Hi,

I am using IWR6843ISK and MMWAVEICBOOST with sdk_03_02_00_04.

There are always ghost detected points next to the radar in the mmWave Demo Visualizer.

I know that it come from antenna coupling and that it is possible to remove that points with the command calibDcRangeSig. But I don't understand how to use that command and what the parameters correspond to.

Can you help me to understand how to remove that ghost detected points by using this command ? I have already tried to use it but it doesn't work.

Thank you,

Mathieu

  • Hi Mathieu,

The calibDcRangeSig eliminates certain objects detected initially from a number of range bins close to the sensor. All of these parameters are configurable and defined in the mmWave-SDK User Guide on page 28.

    Hi,

Thank you for your help but I already know all this informations.

mmw_sdk User Guide is not clear for me and I don't understand what are <negativeBinIdx> and <positiveBinIdx>. What is a Bin ?

    Best,

    Mathieu

    Hi,

I still do not understand how to use the command.

Can you help me please ?

  • In reply to Mathieu Delaveau:

    Hi Mathieu,

Range bins are specific intervals in the range domain where the sensor detects objects. The function is used to remove a specified number of bins that are closest to the sensor.

For more information on mmWave Theory, I'd recommend looking in to the mmWave Training Series.

    Cheers,

    Akash
