Part Number: AWR1243
I have two questions.
(1) We are using the AWR1243 for cascade design. We also looked at the published reference designs. The PDF file have two different parts, (i) AWR1243 and (ii) XWR1243.What is the difference in features between the two?
(2) The AWR 1243 Data sheet (SWRS188 –MAY 2017) shows that cascade is supported in AWR1243, when compared to AWR1443 and AWR1642. However, we are told now that ARW1243P variant of AWR1243 only supports cascading options. Is that true? We have already ordered the part AWR1243 (Part No: AWR1243FBIGABLRQ1). Is there anything that can be done? We can switch to AWR1243P parts in future. What can be done with the ordered parts? Besides incurring extra money for the new order, our design time is also extended. If there is any software fix, for using these parts, that would be greatful.
XWR1243 are pre-production devices that did not go through complete testing flow.

I was communicated that AWR1243 ES 3.0 (production part) does not support cascade.
Unfortunately there is no software workaround.
Only AWR1243P supports cascade

1.Does it mean that ES 2.0 samples of 1243 support cascade option? We would like to use the current samples if possible before we order the new parts of 1243P. Of course, for any future use, we will order 1243P.
2. How do we find what we ordered are ES 3.0 samples not ES2.0 samples?

If you see "ABL" it should be PG 3.0

Thanks for your note. You have answered one of my question.Since our part number has "ABL" in it (AWR1243FBIGABLRQ1), I assume they are 3.0 samples.
Can you please confirm whether we can do the cascade with ES 2.0 samples? I will check our inventory.
If we are lucky we can use those samples, since it will take more time for the 1243P samples to be procured from our side.
ES 2.0 samples support cascade using the Firmware version 1.0
