Hello,

We have built an exact replica of the AWR1642BOOST with the only exception being a custom antenna.

The TM4C129 on the board is there to facilitate the USB connection to a PC.

With our custom board, the TM4C129 does not have the XDS110 firmware loaded to establish that USB connection.

I am assuming we need to JTAG into the TM4C129 and flash that firmware onto the MCU. However, the JTAG pins are not broken out at all.

Is there anyway to flash the FW onto the MCU without reworking the board?
Did TI flash the MCU after it was on the board? Or did we populate the board we pre-programmed MCUs?

HI Ryan,

The TM4C129 should still be able to enumerate on the PC - it is possible to then flash the XDS110 firmware to the board.

Could you please follow the instructions from this thread and see if they work for you?

Hi Anand,

Thank you for the quick response.

We have attempted that method already, but the XDSDFU utility fails to detect the board through the -e enumeration command.

Are there any other troubleshooting steps we can take? Thank you!

Hi Ryan,

Can you confirm that the board enumerates with the host PC over USB? If possible, can you post a screenshot from Device Manager?

The board is not recognized by the PC at all.

Hi Ryan,

I understand that the xdsdfu utility is not able to detect any supported XDS110 devices. Could you check if the board is detected at all by the PC? If so, it would show up as an entry in device manager - or alternatively, you would hear a "USB connection event" sound notification from the PC if the speakers aren't muted.

Could you confirm that the PC is able to detect the board at all?

If not, then you have something else that is missing in your board design around the TM4C129 portion of the schematic. You might want to ask in the TM4C forum.
