Thank you for using the TI forum. We do not currently have a design example for this application that I am aware of. This forum post (https://e2e.ti.com/support/sensors/f/1023/t/355909) contains links to many other design examples and help topics in case you find any of it useful. There are multiple methods that could be used to create an automotive shifter with Hall sensors. One method could be to have multiple Hall switches, where the magnet is moved over each sensor (traditional shifter feel). Another method is to use one or two linear Hall devices and have a single magnet with an angle calculation (more compact, could even be a dial).
