WEBENCH® Tools/LMP91300: LMP91300 - Registers reads prior value

Part Number: LMP91300
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LDC0851

Tool/software: WEBENCH® Design Tools

Hi, I am having the same exact issue as this post below.  It appears to not have been solved.  I have tried all that was suggested.  When I write to a register (call it Regb), then go back and read a different register that I just wrote (call it Rega), I read the same value as was just written to Regb.  Then all the registers I try to read are Regb.  Does anyone have a solution to this?

  • Hi User7311,

Is this for a new project? The LMP91300 is an older device and we typically do not recommend it for new designs. Could you share more about your application? I'd be happy to help you select a different device. We also have the LDC Device Selection Guide if you'd prefer to browse yourself.

    Best Regards,

  • Hi Kristin, thanks for the reply.  Actually, this is the same project as the link below, which you have taken over for Bala.  We can continue this through email if you like.  Basically, I have explored all of your prox. sensor ICs, and LMP91300 is the only device which is going to work for me.  LDC0851 does not go low enough in frequency for me, and does not have flexibility in programming the OFF switch point (hysteresis).  Furthermore, your other devices require software/microcontrollers which I cannot use.  I am working on prototypes for a high volume program and I would appreciate support for this device.  I am almost at the point to having it work.  Thank you for the time.

  • Hello,

Unfortunately we longer support the evaluation software or board for this device. At this time, we will not be able to help or fix the issues with the GUI. The device itself does function properly regarding register read and write.

Our suggestion would that if you are having problem with the GUI, then using the information in the spec, you can create your own code to talk to the device and program it.
