Sir,

I am working on mmwave IWR1443 ,sdk version 1.2.0.5 and currently running mmwave demo mmw_mss_14xx.I am getting 9 as a Qformat but if I am doing the calculation to find out actual x coordinates in meters by reversing the data packet coming and applying the formula ACTUAL=x coordinates/512 I am not gettong the data .Is there any condition before calculation on x coordinates.

And , does the Q format every time change because I am not able to find range resolution also.

Hi Shruti,

1. Please check that you are parsing the output message correctly i.e. you are fetching the xyzQformat and co-ordinate values from the correct locations.

2. A reference Matlab implementation of the mmw demo output message parser is provided in the Zone Occupancy Lab Visualizer which you can download from the Industrial Toolbox using this link: http://dev.ti.com/tirex/explore/node?node=ALoLdm80st4TZsZkpp8r4Q__VLyFKFf__LATEST. Look under the GUI folder for complete Matlab source of the Visualizer and refer to the following code to understand the output message parsing.

Hi Nitin,

I am parsing the raw data by a python code .I am attaching here,

Since, in this number of detected objects is coming right so,I guess my XYZQformat is also fetched from correct location

Can you tell is this the right method to calculate coordinates !!

Hi Shruti,

We cannot review your code on this forum. We have already provided you a reference implementation using Matlab which you can easily understand and compare, step through to see where your own code might have differences.

You can also look download the source code for the mmWaveDemoVisualizer and look at the function process1() in mmwave.js to understand the parsing.
