AWR1642BOOST-ODS: Finding Azimuth and Elevation Using virtual array for boost ODS.

We are trying to find the azimuth and elevation for the below attached virtual array configuration.

right now we are planning to combine the outputs of virtual antenna array vertically for elevation and combine horizontal for azimuth, as shown in picture.

Please can you let me know the proper way to get azimuth and elevation values.

Please take a look at the Obstacle Detection Lab that is a part of the Automotive Toolbox on TI's Resource Explorer.

This demo uses the AWR1642BOOST-ODS board and sends out XYZ coordinate data for all detected objects.

You can see this explained in the "Data Packet Format" of the User's Guide. Specifically, refer to the "Detected Objects TLV".

Hello Kyle,

We have checked with the lab project but the channel processing we couldn't understand. We are planning to combine the channels as shown in previous post image, we will have 2 channels in one plane and another 2 channel spaced by lamda/2 from previous channels. If we don't have all channels in one plane we can't go with fft. So please can you explain how can we proceed to understand azimuth and elevation calculations. We are using dca 1000 to collect data so to observe our collected data we need to write a separate code.

To do so we need to know how to handle the data. So let me know I can process the data.
