Part Number: IWR6843
Light curtain for hand protection devices are sil2 devices. and the resolution of that devices are 30mm. I wonder if we can use mmwave in place of light curtain(hand protection)? can we create 2d scan zone?
Also is there a SIL-2 version of iwr6843boost card?
I'll need to discuss this with my team, we should have an answer for you next week.

Our IWR6843 devices are targeted for SIL-2.
Need some more clarification on 30 mm resolution requirement: Is it min. distance from sensor, or min. distance b'n two objects to distinguish them apart or are you referring to accuracy.

Resolution (R) is also called Minimum Object Sensitivity (MOS) or Detection Capability. This is the smallest diameter (object) that a safety light curtain system is capable of detecting with absolute certainty. This figure describes the resolution of the safety light curtain system:
R = P + E where:
P = distance between the axis of two adjacent beams. E = diameter of the beams.
By the way i need to correct my question. The light curtain's safety category is SIL1(categori 2 PL c) not SIL2 for my application. And the minimum resolution is 20mm not 30mm.

Thank you for your support. I have checked the link you gave me. I guess iwr1443 and iwr6843 are working as an area scanner. Defining a 2d scannig area is not possible.like the image seen below.
Could you tell me the response time for the out of box application. and can i use the same code(out of box code) with sil-2 iwr1443/iwr6843?
