[FAQ] HDC2080/HDC2010 - Why is my temperature reading offset?

If it has been determined that the sensor is returning incorrect temperature readings by using a calibrated reference and appropriate test environment (please see: [FAQ] How does TI recommend doing practical testing of HDC based application end equipment?), then likely there is another source of heat near the sensing element. The sensor should be kept away from heat generating ICs that you do not want to read temperature from. Techniques such as those in section 2.3 of Optimizing Placement and Routing for Humidity Sensors (Rev. A) should be followed to minimize heat conducted from other areas on the board.
