OPT3001 vs OPT3004, what is the difference?

  • OPT3001 and OPT3004 are quite similar devices. OPT3004 is a newer part that adds better angular IR rejection. This is specifically useful in IP camera applications that use infrared LEDs and a dome shaped glass that reflects the IR light from all angles into the light sensor. Both devices are the same size and pin to pin compatible.

    Spec changes

Infrared response (850 nm): spec'd over angle in OPT3004

    Half-power angle: increased in OPT3004

Measurement drift across temp: increased to 0.02%/degC in OPT3004
