How many points of calibration do the TMP61, TMP63, and TMP64 require across a wide temperature range?

  • Single-point offset calibration is normal with TI thermistors, this is possible thanks to the stability of our silicon materials and the linearity of our thermistors. Whether or not you calibrate a thermistor will depend on how small you want your margin of error to be. The single-point offset for the TI silicon thermistor can be performed at room temperature using a temperature standard to calculate the offset value. Add the offset value to the measured temperature for a simple and accurate method to calibrate across a wide temperature range as opposed to three or more calibration points with NTCs.
