Help with merging my accounts and porting my original username

Hello,

The problem I have is almost similar to e2e.ti.com/.../709025. As suggested in the forum, I did contact TI using webform and after further email trails, I was told the accounts were merged, old account deleted and I can choose the nickname by

"login to E2E and click on his Avatar in the top right corner of the site, then choose Settings from the dropdown. On the page, that's returned Tony can change the nickname associated to his account. The next time he logs into E2E that will propagate to his E2E profile."

But the webpage does not let me choose the nickname "Tony Makkiel". It gives me error “This nickname is already taken.” I was also directed back to use e2e forum to see whether it can be fixed by somebody here please? Not sure whether any useful the Service Request number is 1-4572589258

Note: I can still login to my previous account which I accidentally logged in today!

Many Thanks,

Tony

  • Update: Although I tried to post a message from the other account (user: Tony Makkiel), so that there will be a link to both the profiles in same thread, it does not accept the message [Clicking the reply option, does nothing].

    Hi Tony,

So to be certain I'm understanding, you want to use your new daqri.com account and delete the telensa.com account? Do you want to retain the E2E history associated with the telensa.com account? Note that if I delete the telensa.com account and attribute the history to the new daqri.com account, the User points won't transfer unfortunately.

Also, two myTI accounts still exist. You'll have to submit a support request to delete the old telensa.com myTI account.

Actually, I can do this without you losing any points. Your newest account has 0 posts, so I can delete that account, then update your old account with your new information. Does this sound better?
  • No daqri is the old account. I want telensa account to be the active new account. If we can update the username "Tony Makkiel50" to "Tony Makkiel" on telensa account, that would be perfect. We can delete the daqri account after that.

OK, I can delete the E2E account account associated to the daqri account. However, this leaves 2 myTI accounts, one associated to the daqri email address with the "Tony Makkiel" nickname. What you have to do now is submit a support request to have the myTI account with the daqri email address deleted. Once that is complete, you can login to myTI with the telensa account, click Settings in E2E and change your nickname from "Tony Makkiel50" to "Tony Makkiel". Unfortunately, I only administer E2E, which is why the support request is required.

    Hi Tony,

I was informed that your old myTI account was deleted. You should now be able to log into E2E with your newer email address, click Settings from the avatar menu in the top right corner of the screen and update the Nickname field on your myTI E2E Settings page. Please let me know if it works for you.

  • Unfortunately, it still fails with the error.

    This nickname is already taken.

Hmm, very strange. I've confirmed the old account is deleted. It's possible that the old account info is cached and takes some time to refresh. How about trying to change it to TonyMakkiel for now? Note I removed the space between first and last name.
  • That seem to have worked.

Perfect. If you're happy with it as is, we can call this issue resolved.
  • Do you know how long the old account info is cached? If possible I prefer the name with space. But if that can't be done, without space is better than having a number.

Unfortunately, I don't as that's a different system from E2E. I'd think though that it shouldn't be more than a day, so you could try again tomorrow.
  • I just tried to change it. But still the same error Nickname already taken. I am going to mark this thread as solved. Thank you for your help Bill.
