TS3A227E: INT pin connection when manual I2C control is enabled

Part Number: TS3A227E

Datasheet of the part states that INT pin must be grounded when I2C is not used. Can this pin be tied to ground when manual I2C control is used, but INT pin is not needed?

What I could find from the forum:

"The INT/ and MIC_PRESENT/ pins are status indication pins for communication back to the system. These are to let the system know that there are changes in the TS3A227E. If your system doesn't need to know something changed with the TS3A227E (int pin) or has detected a microphone (MIC present pin) then you may ground the pins

Thank you,
