TS5A26542: Extending the Input Logic Translation Vio range

The TS5A26542 device absolute maximum spec for Vio is the same as V+ which tells me they use the same size transistors in the design. 

You could connect V+ to Vio and have the digital logic thresholds Vih and Vil will scale according to the datasheet below.   

What were the key specs you chose the TS5A26542?  If you are not using the logic translation feature would you consider a lower cost switch? 

You can also look at the new TMUX136 which will support 1.8V logic.
