Hai Malik,

Thanks for the information but searching for 4 input and 2 output HDMI switch. Do we have any HDMI switch having these requirements? and what is a differential switch?

penchala,

TMDS442 is a 4 input and 2 output HDMI switch and may work for you application. It does not have simultaneous outputs.

A differential switch is a switch optimized for differential signals or "plus and "minus" pairs. Instead of switching the signal paths independently a specific pair is switched/mux'ed from input to output.

Hai Malik,

Thanks for the reply. I have already TMDS442 chip but it is HDMI 1.3a compatible but i need HDMI 2.0 compatible chip with 4x2 switching capability.

Unfortunately we do not have 4:2 Switch that is compatible with HDMI 2.0, we only have 2:1 switches for HDMI 2.0.

Hai Malik,

Does HD3SS215 chip have EDID, video format converting such as (Y’ Cb Cr) 444 to 422, audio extraction/merging ?

HD3SS215 is a simple switch and does not have the ability to decode audio signals. Are you looking for a audio codec? If so please look at the link below for potential audio codec IC. Could you describe your needs in detail so that I can give a more specific recommendation.

My requirement is i want a chip or a circuit which is capable of extracting the audio part from HDMI output. Can you suggest me appropriate chip or circuit for my requirement.

Prasad,

TI does not have a true HDMI audio extractor however I was able to find some E2E post with some suggestion on how to extract audio from HDMI signal.

"HDMI Receiver IC's will typically convert the embedded audio stream (usually encapsulated in IEC 60958 format). Most HDMI decoders will stream this content out as S/PDIF that can be converted to I2S using a DIR9001 or DIX4192.

TI does not make HDMI reciever IC's that does that initial conversion."
