TS3A24159: crosstalk issue

Part Number: TS3A24159
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TS5A22362

Hi Sirs,

Sorry to bother you.

We have use TS3A24159DGSR for Audio Line in/out Switch, we found there will be crosstalk if the output signal is too large.

Could you provide experience for us? Thanks!!

Power on: line out – codec line out / Power off: line out – line in

Power on: line out – codec line out

When Power on, line out is connected with codec line out. At this time, Line in still has input 1KHz sine wave. The following figure ch1:line in, ch2:line out can still see the negative half of line in appear in line out

Power on: line out – codec line out

When Power on, line out is connected with codec line out. At this time, Line in still has input 1KHz sine wave. The following figure ch1:line in, ch2:line out when line in is reduced to about 300mVp-p, it can't be heard in line out.

Power off: line out – line in

When Power off, Line in still has input 1KHz sine wave. The following figure ch1:line in, ch2:line out can still see the positive half of line in appear in line out

Power off: line out – line in

When Power off, Line in still has input 1KHz sine wave. The following figure ch1:line in, ch2:line out when line in is reduced to about 300mVp-p, it can't be heard in line out.

  • Shu-Cheng,

The TS3A24159 device cannot support negative voltages as you can see in the recommended operating conditions.  You have audio signals centered at 0 V and when the negative signal is large enough it will backpower the switch through the ESD protection diodes and turn on the signal path.

If you would like to support audio signal centered at 0V that can support the negative signal switch you may use the TS5A22362.

    Thank you,

    Adam
