TMUX136: Do you have a device with make before break functionality to avoid open loop on feedback path of switcher's FB pin.

Part Number: TMUX136

E2E,

I'm trying to use a low capacitance switch to switch two inputs that are connected to the feedback to switcher’s FB node (one for local sensing and the other for remote sensing).

I need to make sure that one of the inputs make it to the output since it is required to be present always even during the switches transition. I need to make sure their voltages levels are likely on the same ball park during the transition, and we need to ensure that FB pin is biased by one of the inputs.

I didn't see many make before break options for switchs but I found this technote that shows a similar use case with a mux in the feedback loop using a 1:1 SPST.

 Is this a better solution?

Thank you,

Adam

  • Hi Adam,

Yes, you can use the approach you mentioned above with a 1:1 configuration, 1 channel to switch the inputs connected in the feedback

The 1:1 configuration will make sure the input makes it to the output since it is required to be always present in your application. This will enable the make before break functionality to avoid the open loop on feedback path of the switches FB pin.

Here is a list of switches in 1:1, 1 configuration switches in our device search tool.

    Thanks
