TS3L500AE: TS5MP645

Part Number: TS3L500AE

Hii

will the performance of this ic (

TS3L500AE,  TS5MP645)

depend upon the output capacitive and resistive loading or it works like a mechanical switch

For example if let's say the previous buffer in the path was capable to drive the load now if I introduce this switch between buffer and load will it affect the performance ? Or it will work just like a mechanical switch

My query is will the pass transistors inside turn on properly or not when output load changes

  • Hello,

    Thanks for posting to E2E.

The internal structure of TI's analog switches and multiplexers are typically FETs or FET transmission gates. The electrical characteristics in the datasheet are characterized with the load conditions listed in the characteristics table or parameter measurement information section. If your load conditions are similar to those in the test conditions, you may expect similar characteristics in your system.

What is the load on your switch that you are concerned about performance? What is your end equipment and application? What specific performance characteristics are you concerned about?

If you are just concerned about the switch operating, it is most important to ensure that the recommended operating conditions in the datasheet are always followed.

    Regards,
    Kate

  • next stage to this switch will be an FPGA (spartan 6 series )connected through a FMC (board to board ) connector and IO standard is LVCMOS25
