compete against the ADG1402 in a +-5V application

I used the signal switch search tool on TI.com and filtered on switches that could handle -5V signals.  Then I clicked on the Ron parameter to sort them from least to greatest.  

Why do you need need a switch that can support -5V signal? 

What is driving the low ron requirement?  How low Ron do you need?
