Switching capacity and resistance of CD74HC4051, calculating the capacitor in a S&H structure

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CD74HC4051

Dear community members,

I'm using an CD74HC4051 multiplexing/demultiplexing device in a sample and hold structure.

In the datasheet I didin't found some electrical specifications in subject to the switching capacity and resistance.

I need it for calculating the follwing capactor.

In the application it'll implement, the time for load is 1/10kHz and for Hold is 1/5kHz. The range of amplitude is 0 to 3,3V.

The maximum hold drift shouldn't be more than 1%.

Could you please help me to get the facts about the device or give an for alternative calculating method without?

Thaks a lot.

Uwe

  • Uwe,

The switch resistance specification is called on state resistance or Ron.  This is the resistance measured from the drain to the source of the bi directional passive FET when it is biased to allow conduction.

The capacitance values of the switch are also listed in the datasheet.

    Thank you,

    Adam
