SN74CB3Q3245: when Vcc 3.3V, Vin can support 1.8V.

Part Number: SN74CB3Q3245
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TS3A4751

Hello,

Would you please help me confirm the singal switch (SN74CB3Q3245RGY) VCC 3V3, docking 1.8V level signal to confirm whether there is a problem?. (because I see the specifications are in the case of 3V3 power supply, VIH minimum is 2V) thank you!

  • Charles,

The SN74CB3Q3245 device with Vcc = 3.3 V can pass any voltage from 0V to 5.5 V on the I/O path pins AX and BX.  Also with 3.3 V supply has the Vih level at 2 V for the OE pin

With 3.3 V on the supply pin Vcc the IC can 1.8V signals.  If the control signal on the OE pin is 1.8V there can be no guarantee the device will be Hi-Z between the A and B pins.

If you would like to have the control logic controlled with a 1.8V signal you may try using 2x TS3A4751 devices.  Do you think this will work?

    Thank you,

    Adam
