TS12A44514: Does this device have 2kV insulation voltage at open contact

Part Number: TS12A44514
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ISO7741

Dear,

Sir,

I am Pratik Debnath using TS12A44514 analog switch.I want to know the isulation voltage of that switch in open condition.I want minimum 2Kv insulation voltage at open contact.

please reply and correct me.

Thanks

Pratik

  • Pratik,

The TS12A44514 is a passive FET switch and would not support 2000 V on the signal path for any significant duration other than an ESD type event. When the TS12A44514 is toggled to the off state the signal path will be Hi-Z in the ~1M ohm range but it will not support more than the recommended voltage 0 to Vcc.

I think you may be looking for one of TI's isolation products like the ISO771.

Let us know what you think about the Isolation device.

  • Dear,

    Sir ,
I am looking for a digital isolator type switch. When there is no 2kv present i shall short two terminal for calibrate and open when 2kv is present.Switch is controlled by 3.3v microcontroller.
So I choose  TS12A44514.PLease suggest right switch like digital isolator switch which can be operated on 3.3V and in open condition it gives 2KV isolation.
    Kindly suggest somthing.
  • Hi Pratik,

I do not think I understand your requirement very well, could you please describe a little more on why you need a digital isolator / switch for your application? How are you planning to use the device? For us to better understand your requirement and suggest the most suitable device, please let us know what is the end application and what is the device connected to on either side.

If you have a simplified block diagram or shareable schematic, that would also help.

A digital isolator is going to be a true isolator that separates one side from the other with an isolation voltage (VISO) of upto 5kVrms. For more details on TI's digital isolators, please refer to ISO7741 datasheet.
