TS5MP646: TS5MP646 Application Clock Direction

Part Number: TS5MP646

During data sheet review for TS5MP646 use, we will ask about the clock direction of IC block diagram.

In the above figure, the CLK direction is directed toward the MIPI module. Should this direction be unconditionally maintained?

The system I want to configure is the MIPI module outputting camera signals (CSI 4-Lane). At this time, the CLK direction should be directed to the processor opposite the direction of the data sheet.

I think it should be like the picture above, but I want to know if it is impossible.

I look forward to your reply. Thank you.

  • Kyung,

The TS5MP646 is a passive FET switch and does not drive any input or output signals. The TS5MP646 as all TI FET switches are bi-directional and will pass signals from the drain to the source or from the source to the drain depending on how the system transmitters and receivers drive the device.

The directions of the signals in your application will depend on the requirements of your MIPI module and processor. The TS5MP646 passive FET switch doesn't care which direction signals flow or what protocol the signals are as long as the voltage and bandwidth requirements are within the specifications.

    Thank you,
    Adam
