Part Number: CCSTUDIO

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

Hi,

I'm having problems installing the Code Composer Studio V6.1.2 into Ubuntu v16.04. The installation stops when it tries to install the com.ti.ccstudio.debugserver.linux.

Installing... com.ti.ccstudio.debugserver.linux...
Registering com.ti.ccstudio.debuserver.linux...
Unable to download ti_dspack_ibsetup_6.1.0.1449.bin. Trying again.

It follow attached the install.log file
/ccs_setup_6.1.2.00015_install.log

I tried to install the online and the offline versions but I have the same problem.

  • Hello Milan,
Any reason why you are trying to use 6.1.2? It is quite an old version I would like to suggest installing something more recent, if you can. Is your Ubuntu distro a 32-bit one?

    Thanks
    ki
  • Hello Ki,

Yes, the reason is that I have some code as a motor controller adjusted for this specific (and older) version(s) of CCS and I would like to use the advantage of this code which is couple of years old. The main reason is the code uses patched 64bit Ubuntu 16.04 kernel making it Real-Time Linux. But, nevertheless I tried with both 32bit and 64bit generic distros (without patching kernel). To sum up, the same error occurs on generic 32bit, generic 64bit and on preempt-real time linux 64bit kernel patched Ubuntu 16.04 kernel.

    Thank you,
    Milan
