CCS/IWR1642BOOST: Unable to install CCS8

Hi,

Its details are:

@xxxxx-OptiPlex-390:~/mmwave/CCS8.1.0.00011_linux-x64$ uname -a
Linux xxxxx-OptiPlex-390 4.4.0-31-generic #50-Ubuntu SMP Wed Jul 13 00:06:14 UTC 2016 i686 i686 i686 GNU/Linux

I am trying to install CC8. On running CCS bin file, got format error.

bash: ./ccs_setup_linux64_8.1.0.00011.bin: cannot execute binary file: Exec format error.

also did:

XXXX-OptiPlex-390:~/mmwave/CCS8.1.0.00011_linux-x64$ sudo apt install libc6:i386
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
libc6 is already the newest version (2.23-0ubuntu10).
0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 600 not upgraded.I have Ubuntu16.04 Desktop.

But error persist.

Please check.

Hello Vikas,

<<< cannot execute binary file: Exec format error.
could relate to IA32/X64 platform.
What is your h/w and OS?

Your Linux distro is 32-bit. CCSv8 is a 64-bit application and does not support 32-bit Linux

Hi Ki,

interesting case,
I do prefer to offer some hints rather than solutions,
however, looks like, TI prefers to give solutions.
Question is: what is better for a customer ...?

How did you outlined Vikas statement when quoting him?
How did you highlighted i686 i686 i686?

You need to be using the 'Rich Editor" for some of the more advanced features. See the second FAQ at the bottom of the below post:
