CCS/TMS320F28030: Autocomplete not searching include directory after update

Hello,

I've updated my CCS to version 8 from version 7. I'm having an issue where my auto completes (control-space shortcut) in include contexts do not search included directories in my project like they did in CCS 7.

I went back and verified this is not working on a project I've been working on that did successfully work in CCS 7.

I'm attaching a photo showing that I have included the C2000 include directory to my project, and another screenshot showing the autocomplete options inside of an include. If I manually type the file name and compile, the compiler will find the files, but the autocomplete does not. Is there a way to re-enable this feature?

Hi Jonathan,
This is a known limitation that I thought existed in CCSv7 also. I just tried it out in CCSv7.4 and the behavior is the same. What CCSv7 version are you using? Can you also provide a similar screenshot of it working for you in v7?

Hello Ki,

I had version 7.1 and 7.2 installed. Unfortunately I can't provide a screen shot of that because I uninstalled my entire environment before upgrading in an attempt to fix my problems with installing updates through CCS (I still have issues with that, but that's not a concern at the moment).

I wasn't aware it's a limitation of later versions of CCS.

It was less a limitation and more of flaky behavior that was the issue. Strangely enough, I am able to get it to work now. Can you try rebuilding the index to see if that helps:

Ok, I found out what the discrepancy in behavior was that I saw. The autocomplete in a source file seems to work as expected while from a header file, it does not. Still investigating...

Jonathan - can you confirm that the behavior is the same as with CCSv7? This is what I see.

I cannot, unfortunately. I did a clean install of 8, and deleted all CCS stuff prior to the upgrade.

Since it does work in source files, I can just pay attention to where I'm attempting to pull my includes in. I'll mark the thread at resolved. Thanks
