Compiler/MSP430FR2033: Qualify MSP430FR2033 for IEC61508

Hi,

I am looking to qualify MSP430FR2033 for IEC61508 and intend to use future MSP's with IEC61508 too.

I see that there is the SafeTi Compiler for this with regards to DSP's C6000, C2000 etc, however is there a specific way to do it with MSP? or will this compile still be accurate and would probably have to change linker files etc?

Any help or advise you can provide is much appreciated

I think you mean to ask whether the MSP430 compiler will have a qualification kit like the SafeTI Compiler Qualification Kits currently available for ARM, C2000, and C6000. Unfortunately, no, there are no plans to release such a kit for the MSP430 compiler.

Hey Calex,

As George mentioned, I'm not aware of any plans to build such a compiler for MSP430.

I'm not very familiar with IEC61508, but it doesn't seem that we have any support for that level of safety in the MSP430 portfolio.

The most we have is a IEC60730 SW package to assist customers, but even then I'm pretty sure that we don't offer any qualification data with it.

Do you have a sense of what qualification would take?
