CCS/CCSTUDIO: where is ti_dspack_ibsetup_6.1.0.1449.bin i need it please

Part Number: CCSTUDIO

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

I noticed that the CCS 6.1.2 works for MS windows version just not the Linux version.

Can you fix the install so this file "ti_dspack_ibsetup_6.1.0.1449.bin" is found please. This would be a great help. Either that or clean up your Installer downloads as it appears you still support all these old versions of CCS which it appears you do not.

  • Hi James,

Your are correct, these old CCS versions are no longer supported. We provide the urls for them on the CCS download page in case people are looking for a particular version. But in regards to actual support, we recommend you update to a more recent version.

Is there any particular reason you are trying to install 6.1.2?

    Thanks

  • Hi

I am trying to install this specific version because I am developing software for a project in a company that has change control. This specific version is a requirement of the project qualification. Its an Aerospace company.

If you wont / cant fix this issue

Will you clean up your download section to show only version that work?

Understood. I have escalated this issue to the installer experts. We hope to find a workaround for this. I will let you know as soon as I have any updates

    Thanks

  • We are still investigating. I'm able to reproduce the issue on both Ubuntu 14.04 and 16.04. I also get an install failure on 18.04, but with a different issue.

Clearly there is something wrong with 6.1.2 on Ubuntu. We'll look at removing this version.

Note that 6.1.3 installed just fine (for me) on Ubuntu 16.04. You may want to try that version. It is just a minor revision different (bug fixes only). You can always use the same versions of the compiler that came in 6.1.2 to make sure your build environment is the same.

    Thanks

  • Hi

Thanks for investigating. I will use 6.1.3 which I have installed. I see it uses

    4.9.3.2015q3_2015

    and 6.1.2 uses

    4.8.2014q3-20140805

how do I downgrade this component?

Also what is the newest version I can use with this older version?

    Thanks.

You can get that version from:

    https://launchpad.net/gcc-arm-embedded/4.8/4.8-2014-q3-update

If you extract it in the same location as the 4.9 version, it should get autodetected by CCS:

Looks like you can get 9.2.1.2019 when I check the GCC ARM Compiler update site

    Thanks

I'm wondering if I misunderstood the question. I initially assumed you meant the newest version of GCC with CCS 6.1.3. If you mean the newest version of CCS with the old compiler version, it should be supported by the latest CCS versions.

    Thanks

  • Hi

Sorry I was ambiguous I meant the newest version of CCS what support 4.8.4 linaro. Thanks for the feedback.
