  • This new webench is interesting, but I wonder why with the old one when starting with same information I get different results into both webench? I click highest  efficiency in both.

    It's for TPS54424RNVR.   there is also a big difference for the inductor (5.6uH versus 18uH)  Does the "old" webench point out unstable values so it's better to stick to the beta version or vice versa?

    Why Beta Webench did not show the 98% efficiency when I click highest efficiency?

    Hi Rozor,

        For a non-isolated application, you can probably use a High Side Buck. You can use the UCC28880/1 in the high side buck topology. The UCC28880 can go upto currents of 100mA and UCC28881 upto currents of 225mA. We support these devices in High Side Buck in WEBENCH. There are other devices that could be used in a buck topology like the UCC28C42. Here is a reference design that can help you with this.

    Hi David,
    We decided to use knob position 4 in Flash as the high efficiency design in the Beta WEBENCH (HTML5). The reason is because even though knob position 5 can give you higher efficiency, it can lead to large inductors and potentially bigger designs. To make it practical, we decided to use knob position 4 for high efficiency in the new tool.
    If you compare knob position 4 in Flash tool against the high efficiency in Beta WEBENCH - it matches.

    I can't use the tool if I cannot adjust the compensation network.. I just spent a fair amount of time fiddling with TPS5432DDA design that will be powering a cellular module that has violent load step behavior depending on what it's doing.
