What are the benefits of using UCC28780 in the implementation of high efficiency, high power density USB Type-C power delivery, AC/DC adapter solution?

  • TIDA-01622 is a fully tested TI Reference Design for high efficiency, high power density, USB Type-C power delivery, AC/DC adapter solution with a wide input voltage range (85 - 265VAC) for laptop adapters and smartphone charger applications.

    UCC28780 is used as the key PWM controller, where its Adaptive Zero Voltage Switching (ZVS) and Burst Control are vitally important to realize the peak efficiency 94% and high power density 30W/in3, and also easily meet the stringent global efficiency standards DoE Level VI and EU CoC V5 Tier-2.
