WEBENCH® Tools/TPS61046: Part in design exported from WebBench, but can't find in Tina Library

Part Number: TPS61046
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TINA-TI

Tool/software: WEBENCH® Design Tools

I was able to specify a design in Web Bench for the TPS61046 and export it to simulate further in Tina.  Tina shows the subcircuit for the 61046.  Sim doesn't work however - output never gets to specified voltage using the circuit that Web Bench built.

I also notice that TPS61046 is not in Tina library.  I have it in my design from the Web Bench export, but I could never add it to a new design.

  • Hi Joe,

Thanks for contacting us. Could you please share your Webench design? Please follow below steps.

    1. Create the Webench design and click on "Export" tab. Look for share icon just below it. Pleas click on it.

    2. Click "GET LINK" from Public Link tab.

    3. Share the generated link with us.

    Best Regards,

    Bhushan

  • Hi Joe,

I exported TINA-TI design for WEBENCH default condition [TPS61046 - Vin=1.8-4.5V, Vout=12V, Iout=0.05A]. The simulation ran fine. Please find below snapshot of the results FYR.

Regarding your query on TPS61046 not present in Tina library,

You can directly copy (Ctrl + C) macro from WEBENCH exported .TSC file and paste (Ctrl + V) it in the new schematic. Kindly let us know in case you have any further queries.

    Thanks & Regards,

    Harish

  • I tried exactly what you suggested.  The exported design from Web Bench did not run in the simulator.  I don't know why it worked for you.

My second question was why the TPS61046 was missing from the library.  You are correct in that if I *already* have a design with that part in it I can copy it out to another design.  But it appears I can't add it to a new design without constructing an example design first?  Is that the only way to access certain device models?

  • Hi Joe,

    I exported TINA-TI design for WEBENCH default condition [TPS61046 - Vin=1.8-4.5V, Vout=12V, Iout=0.05A].

Please find exported TINA-TI design below for your reference.

Please find the steps below to simulate the exported TINA-TI design

Please find below snapshot of the results FYR.

Regarding your query on accessing models in TINA,

Yes,constructing an example design first is the only way to access device models.

Kindly let us know in case you have any further queries.

    Thanks and Regards,
