TIDA-01629: will this design work according to our configuration

Part Number: TIDA-01629

Hi! I am using the motor controller for making a battery electric vehicle with the battery specifications as:

Hub BLDC motor-500 watt

Lithium ion battery -48 volts 20 Ah

So will this design work according to our configuration?

  • Hello,

thank you for your interest in our TIDA-01629 reference design.

Whether the design meets your requirements depends especially on the maximum phase current. We've specified the maximum continuous output power based on the maximum phase to voltage voltage (34Vrms)  at 48VDC bus voltage and the 10 Arms maximum continuous phase current. Please see design guide figure 34 and equation 7 to see the details of our calculation.

Other parameters you may want to check:

    - Maximum continuous phase current: 10Arms (please see above how we correlate to output power)

    - Ambient temperature range: TIDA-01629 is tested up to 85C ambient, see safe operating area in the design guide figure 36.

    - PWM frequency: TIDA-01629 is tested with 16kHz PWM frequency.

You can find the entire specifications in the TIDA-01629 in the design guide section 1.2 Key System Specifications

    Regards,

    Martin Staebler
