WEBENCH® Tools/TCI6638K2K: UCD9090A and UCD9244RGCT CONFIGURATION FILES

Part Number: TCI6638K2K

Tool/software: WEBENCH® Design Tools

Hi sir,

We are facing issue on latest UCD devices 9090A and 9244G configuration files while trying to generate PWM signal for required regulators.

Kindly provide latest XML configuration files for UCD9090ARGZR and UCD9244RGCTEP devices.

The TI fusion Digital Power Designer software used here; Version 7.1.23

No changes in the schematic, reference schematic as it is followed in the design.

Thanks

  • Hi

What exactly the issue is it? what has been changes? Is the problem from UCD9090A or UCD9244G or it is a combination system issue? Do you have the projects file to share?

    Regards

    Yihe

  • Hi

The issue mainly with UCD9244G,  Regulators are not getting PWM signal from UCD9244G thats why no output voltages are coming to those regulators because hardware wise i have checked everything there is no issue with any discrete and IC. So i m doubting on configuration for those rails like voltage calibration, scale, monitor and CLA bank configuration.

here I'm attaching project file and some configuration settings where I'm having doubts for your reference.issue.zip

    Thank you

  • Hi Suma,

Can you provide schematic in pdf file?

    Thanks

    Qian

  • Hi Qian,

Please find attached pdf  for schematicBEL1212_SCH.pdf

    Thanks

  • Hi Suma,

The Fusion programming shows On/OFF configure is set as "control only and active low". Can you check if PMBUS_CNTRL is pull low to turn on rails?

If that's not the reason, can you go to Fusion Status tab and check if any fault is declared?

Btw, which reference design do you follow?

    Thanks

    Qian

  • Dear Qian,

The Fusion programming shows On/OFF configure is set as "control only and active low". Can you check if PMBUS_CNTRL is pull low to turn on rails?

ANS :  As we earlier provided schematic for reference, Yes The PMBUS_CNTRL signal is pulled LOW via 1M resistor to GND and also connected to UCD9090A serially via 1k resistor .

If that's not the reason, can you go to Fusion Status tab and check if any fault is declared?

ANS: The snapshots attached for reference, we are observing over current fault due to  calibration configuration parameters in tools menu.

Here, please confirm us , CLA coefficient configuration meant for what? and please provide calibration for voltage , current & temperature.

With out UCD 9090 & 9244, the regulator output is coming - no issue --- this test has been done for confirmation about issue at UCD 9244 or regulator...

which reference design do you follow?

We have followed Keystone-II reference design available in TI website

All snapshots attached for your reference.  Majorly we are failing at calibration level ( Voltage, Current & Temperature)snapshot images_issue.zip

Attached working files, but here the UCD9244 device version is different, currently this device is obsolete. This is for your reference.

  • Hi Suma,

IOUT_CAL_GAIN should be 47*(equivalent DCR), where (Equivalent DCR) is R332/(R319+R332)*DCR in your schematic.

IOUT_CAL_OFFSET initial value can set to 0A.

IOUT thermal coefficient is 0.39%/c, which is copper thermal coefficient.

VOUT_SCLAE_LOOP should be R2/(R1+R2), where R1 and R2 are in figure 10 of UCD9244 datasheet. In your design VOUT_SCLAE_LOOP is R166/(R165+R166).
