Hello TI,

In the design of Dual Active Bridge, you have used R and C combination with each bridge (encircled part in attached image). Could you please explain the use of this part and reference for this. Moreover, you did not use RC snubber. Is there any specific reason for this?

Hi,

The circled portion of the schematic is nothing but bleeder resistors put across capacitors for their safe discharge.

Secondly, the RC snubbers are not put across switches because they turn on at ZVS. Additional capacitors can be put optionally across FETs to reduce the turn off losses.

May you please explain the operation of bleeder resistors and capacitors across them. What may happen, if we don't put these resisotrs and capacitors across the bridge?

Hi,

The capacitors are the filter capacitors for handling ripple voltage. The resistor across the electrolytic capacitor are bleeder resistor and they are for safety purpose. https://electronicscoach.com/bleeder-resistor.html
