WEBENCH® Tools/TPS7H1101-SP: PSpice trans model produces internal voltages higher than supply voltage

Part Number: TPS7H1101-SP

Tool/software: WEBENCH® Design Tools

Hi,

I am simulating the trans model of this device with Pspice and saving the Bias Point files. See enclosed.

For input capacitor (C70) values of 0.47uF and 220uF, the BP files show 3 internal nodes with voltages of 10.09V and 7.86V. These values are higher than the 4V supply voltage.

How is this physically possible?

Many thanks,

Ann

  • When I simulate your TPS7H1101-SP model and look at the trans.out and bode.out files, I also find three nodes exceeding the supply voltage. See attached.

    Please advise.

    Thanks.

  • Ann,

I apologize that this post was missed originally.

The internal modelling is based on ideal current sources and gain stages, and may not physically reflect how the internal circuit operates.

It is possible to generate larger internal voltages than Vin.
