Please let us know, if the SensorTag Android & iOS apps can support customer-supplied OAD image for BLE v2.2 device targets.

Custom firmware can be updated via the application?

As I know, SensorTag Android and iOS apps can do it.

We found iOS app can do it, but android is not yet.

For sensortag Android app, you can scroll to "TI OAD Service" and click "SELECT CUSTOM FW" after you connect with a BLE peripheral device.

We could not find the menu "SELECT CUSTOM FW".

Which version version of sensor tag android application supports custom OAD image update.

Could anyone from TI help me with this?

Hi Sandy,

Yes if you connect with an OAD-enabled peripheral to the Simplelink Starter Android app you should get an OAD tab in your Sensor View.

Thank you for the kind assistance.
For android, If we connect an OAD-enabled sensortag board, we get OAD menu just for the TI prepared image, NOT user provided image.
Just like iOS version, please let us know how to update our image to sensortag via OAD with android handest.

Which version of android application supports custom OAD image update? Android application only support Factory FW, which is provided by TI, no custom FW is alloweded. Please let me know. if we can use Custom FW. I spent many hours with no result.

Hello

I've tried iOS, and it is OK. For android version, I placed a binary file on the smartphone folder, but cuould not copmplete the operation. User created FW could not be used with current android version.

Please check it for us.

Hi Sejin,

Unfortunately, this is not supported in the android version of the Simplelink starter app.

If this feature is not included in the android version, I think the below link need to be revised.

I think, someone might rely on this announcement to choose the chipset.

This OAD feature is very useful for sensortag. I think in the long run, this should be included to TI product.

Hi David,

You can still update the device using BTool which is a windows tool.
