CC2640R2F: Connect as a passive scanner over multiple antennas

Hi,

I've just received the CC2640R2 LaunchPad. I've been able to use the simple-central project example to turn it into a passive scanner giving me the ID, RSSI and payload data of a couple of BLE tags surrounding it, which is what interests me.

My question is: is it possible, in theory, to do the same thing over two external antennas? I realise there's only one external antenna connecter but I mean by modifying the launchpad to include a second one or connecting it to the BOOSTXL-AoA. Is it theoricaly possible to ask the launchpad to monitor and return two separate sets of data over two antennas?

Hi Nicolas,

Even if you have multiple antennas, the CC2640R2F only has one radio, so it will only be able to use one antenna at the time.

You can switch between multiple antennas (e.g. by using BOOSTXL-AoA) and gather the data independently.
