Good morning

I would like to know the reasons or studies carried out to determine that the frequency of work for implementations based on IEEE 802.15.4 (TIMAC, TI-RTOS) is 2.4 GHz and the frequencies of 915MHz, 848MHz, or lower are not usually used, mainly considering the with energy.

I appreciate your collaboration.

Note: I am conducting a research on energy consumption in wireless sensor networks (WSN) to implement in the agricultural field.

This answers a lot of the doubts. However, I would like to know the advantages of the implementation in 2.4 GHz.

A person expert in the WSN theme ensures that it consumes less energy 2.4 GHz and has more benefits, the higher the frequency, for example 5.8 GHz.

I would like to know if these statements are correct, and if so, in what lies these advantages and what is the reason for implementing Z-Stack in 2.4 GHz ?.

Camilo,

The main advantage is smaller antenna size (and therefore smaller overall product size) and then 2.4GHz frequency is used across the world for the same purpose, so you can release one product for worldwide deployment ( you still have to certify for each region/country) but the HW will be the same.
