TRF7970A: Standby current

Hello expert,

I got a question from our customer as bellows.

We found 2 standby current value in TRF7970A spec sheet , SLOS743L.pdf.

1) 5.4 Electircal Characteristics

Istby typ=1.9mA、max=3.5mA

2) 6.3.3 Power Modes Table6.4

Stanby mode typ=3mA

Which is correct value?

Hello Fujinaka-san,

Honestly in all the time working with the device, I was not aware of this mismatch. I am not sure which is the correct value, I would suspect the Power Modes table gives the full picture, and the Electrical Characteristics mistakenly lists the 3.3V Istby current instead of the 5V Istby current.

I will ask a colleague to look into this further and respond next week.

Hello Fujinaka-san,

thank you for bringing this up. This is of cause confusing.

I have checked the data with our test engineer and as Ralph already has written the correct value is in the Power Modes table.
Measured test values showed for 5V a typical standby current below the 3mA (~2.8mA).
