CC1312R: Helical Antenna design

Hi All,

in my RF sensor node design, I need to use PCB helical antenna instead of the normal  PCB antenna design provided in the Launchpad -  "S " shape PCB antenna.

So please confirm the "SWRA416"  application note mentioned helical antenna is suitable for  CC1312R ic - 868MHz frequency.

Also please share the impedance matching network schematic for this PCB helical antenna.

Please refer the image of helical antenna mentioned in the  "SWRA416"  application note

    Hi,

    Yes, you can use it.

    Please use PI network as a place holder for Antenna matching Network. Please refer to Figure 4 in SWRA416 for PI Network.

    Antenna matching network must be tuned on a complete unit ( which includes casing).

    Hi,

    Remove Z60 and move Z61 to the other side of Z63 ( place in between Z63 and A1)

    Make Z63 as 0 Ohms Resistor to start with.

    Then do the Antenna matching on Prototype units ( includes casing). Please refer to SWRA640 for guidance on Antenna matching.
