CC3100: Converting module form ap mode to station mode

The situation is like first cc3100 in which host controller is stm32f4 the mod is put in ap mode and then receiving the ssid and password then by using that mod is changed to sta mode and connects to given ssid and password everything works fine if the ssid and password is correct but if the ssid is given wrong means it continue to be in sta mode.

is there any way to search or list all the available networks that are in ap mode before the cc3100 is connected to any one of ap.

Hi jagath,

No. You cannot scan for available networks in AP mode at CC3100. This feature you need to have newer CC3120. But you can scan for networks in STA mode. You can read surrounding networks before you switch into AP mode and remember them.

List of networks can be read by API sl_WlanGetNetworkList(). Before reading list of available netwroks you need to set scan policy by API sl_WlanPolicySet (SL_POLICY_SCAN,...) also.

Please see example scan_policy in CC3100 SDK.

The password and ssid is given when mod is in ap mode and then switched to sta mode to connect to that ap. Every thing works fine if ssid and password of that ap is given correct.

if ssid is given wrong it always tried to connect with that wrong ssid and password ,it is should go back to ap mode after some time out or delay

Hi jagath,

This you can control from your host code. If you not get a connect event after some amount of time, you can switch back to AP mode. Management is up to you.
