CC3200MOD: CC3200: SimpleLinkGeneralEventHandler [GENERAL EVENT] - ID=[2] Sender=[0]

Part Number: CC3200MOD
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC3200

Hi Ti members,

I would like to know the meaning of " [GENERAL EVENT] - ID=[2] Sender=[0] ".

I can't find any information to explain this  [GENERAL EVENT]  at SDK1.3.0 and servicepack_1.0.1.13-2.11.0.1.bin.

When CC3200 gets  [GENERAL EVENT] - ID=[2] Sender=[0], CC3200 always hangs....

Reset is not worked! It need to format flash and program.

Could i do something to clear this [GENERAL EVENT] ?

  • CheWei,

2 Just means you got a disconnect event. Check the device.h fail to see the define and the structure for the SimpleLinkGeneralEventHandler.

It does not make sense that an event notification causes your program to hang. Could you give more detail as to what is going on?

    Jesu

  • Hi Jesu,

    Sorry, It's a typo.

    It's "SimpleLinkGeneralEventHandler [GENERAL EVENT] - ID=[2] Sender=[0] ". I think it's not a disconnect event,right?

Sorry, i don't know what's going on. Because i can't record in a log for every device. It's random.

    Working flow

    1. Bootloader

    2. Application

    2.1 Wlan Configuration

    2.2 Connect to AP

    2.3 Connect to Server

    2.4 TCP/IP

    2.5 SimpleLink Close

    2.6 Hibernate

    2.7 wake up

  • Hi Chewei,

My mistake. I have a few suggestions...

Before going to hibernate you should close all active connections and call sl_Stop to close everything gracefully. I don't know if this could be related to your problem but it could certainly avoid some. The other thing is to update to the latest service pack and if possible even the latest SDK. The latest SDKs and service pack have the latest bug fixes and are more stable.

Also, there's other members in our forum that have reported similar issues here. Maybe this E2E will be helpful.

    Jesu

  • Hi Jesu,

I try to update service pack, but it's the same.

Could i clear the flag on cc3200? or read/write NWP  register?

  • Hi Ti

    Could anyone help?

  • Hi CheWei,

In response to your question earlier:

    It's "SimpleLinkGeneralEventHandler [GENERAL EVENT] - ID=[2] Sender=[0] ". I think it's not a disconnect event,right?

Correct. Please ignore what I said earlier this was a mistake. I need to check with one of our engineers what these general events mean because I cannot find information on these. I might ask you to capture NWP logs but give me time to investigate these events first. I will get back to you no later than Tuesday.

    Jesu

  • Hi CheWei,

Please capture NWP logs and attach them here. Follow this guide to capture.

    -Jesus

  • Hi Jesus,

    No, It's not disconnect!

Here NWP logs. Hope it's helpful.

  • Hi CheWei,

Thanks for providing the logs. I located where the error is happening and it appears it's related to memory allocation issue on the NWP. I will need to submit a ticket and work with RnD to debug this issue further. Please standby.

    Jesu

  • Hi Jesu,

    Thanks for helping.

    I really need your help.

  • Hi CheWei,

Apologies for the delay I thought I had replied to you earlier. I noticed in the log you are still using an older service pack. Could you try this with later service pack to see if you still have this problem. Make sure to use version 1.0.1.14-2.12.2.8. If possible send me another log of this to confirm.

    Jesu

  • Hi Jesu,

Sorry, I format the flash. Now I can't reproduce the issue...

But I think it's the same with later service pack.

  • Hi CheWei,

Before I submit a ticket to RnD I have to be sure you can re-create the issue with the latest service pack as that is the first things they are going to ask.

    Jesu
